Q&A – The art of letting go – how can leaders delegate effectively?

To be an effective leader, you have to master the art of letting go, of delegating authority to someone else for some areas and tasks. As a leader, you can’t do it all, but many of us still try. But delegating properly and successfully, with confidence and consistency is not easy – the fear of relinquishing control or not having enough time to delegate properly can hold you back.

During this 45 minute session on 30 May, Amy Lishman, Head of Member Engagement and Deputy CEO at Brighton Chamber is joined Victoria Ramsden, Director at Integrity Performance, a leadership and performance coaching consultancy for a Q&A about how to let go, delegate and lead effectively. We’ll be discussing why leaders don’t delegate, top tips such as setting non-negotiables and understanding the power dynamics at play, as well as looking at some examples.

If you’re a business owner, a senior leader or a manager who struggles to delegate (for a myriad of reasons!) or just want to upskill and get some practical tips to do it effectively and with purpose, come along and find out more from an expert.

Topics covered include:

  • How can delegation help leaders lead more effectively?
  • Why leaders and managers don’t delegate.
  • What are some different ways to delegate in different situations?
  • When is delegation not the right approach?
  • As a leader, how do you ensure success when delegating?
  • There will be the opportunity to ask questions both in advance and during the event.

There will be the opportunity to ask questions both in advance and during the event.
