The Sussex MBA Speaker Series represents a curation of talks that delve deeply into emerging issues which affect business and society.

We cordially invite you to join the upcoming Sussex MBA Speaker Series event on Tuesday 25 April, an evening of inspiration, learning, and networking at the Attenborough Centre for Creative Arts, University of Sussex.

The evening will start with a panel discussion, where industry leaders and visionaries will share their experiences, challenges, and insights on the topic of “AI in the Workplace: A Glimpse of the Future.”

Following this, the event will move on to a drink’s reception, where you’ll have the chance to mingle and connect with MBA alumni and students, faculty and industry leaders. This is a fantastic opportunity to network with like-minded individuals, share your experiences, and make valuable new connections.

AI in the Work Place: A Glimpse of the Future

With the advent of more and more sophisticated form of Artificial Intelligence (AI), our work places are becoming reliant on various forms of automated processes. Conversational chat bots, data platforms that can automatise decision making, job interview led by AI, in few years our workplaces might look very different from today. What should we expect? What should we be looking forward to? What might be some challenges to consider? Our panel of AI experts, all Sussex Alumni, will help us answer these questions.

Speakers

Simon Greenman, Partner at Best Practice AI and Member of the Global AI Council, World Economic Forum

Simon Greenman is a global AI and technology innovator with over 25 years of experience as an executive, investor, and director. He was a co-founder of MapQuest, one of the first internet brands. Simon is currently a partner at Best Practice AI, where he advises executives and investors on AI strategy, implementation, and responsible AI governance. He is also a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global AI Council, where he was instrumental in the development of their AI Boardroom and C-Suite toolkits.

Simon is an advisor to DN Capital and a former AI Expert in Residence (EIR) at Seedcamp. In addition, he serves as Co-Chair of the HBS Alumni Angels of London. Simon has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Computing and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Sussex. He holds dual US and UK citizenship and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society.

Rachel Cook, Senior Product Manager at Rasa

Rachel Cook is an accomplished product leader with a passion for developing and scaling Artificial Intelligence products. Her recent work in Conversational AI has focused on enabling large enterprises to optimise machine learning models. Her academic credentials include an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Sussex, an MBA from the University of Warwick, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Social Studies. Rachel’s MSc dissertation specialised in creating fair and transparent AI algorithms, a topic she is deeply passionate about. She is a keen advocate for Women in AI, organising events with speakers from top tech companies.

Samuel Holden, Lead Consultant at Mesh-AI

Samuel is Lead Consultant at Mesh-AI, a global technology consultancy specialising in data-led, digital transformations and artificial intelligence. Prior to Mesh-AI, Samuel spent seven years designing and delivering digital products and platforms at both Nationwide Building Society and at American Express.

He is an alumni of the University of Sussex MBA (2018-2020) and holds a BSc (Hons) in Business Computer Systems from University of Brighton (2016). He holds memberships with the Institute of Engineering and Technology and with the Chartered Management Institute.
