Inclusive Sussex: In Conversation event, featuring Lela Kogbara and Jane Farrell, discussing Inclusive Leadership.
Lela was a senior leader in the public sector for 25 years, 16 of which were in Islington where she was Assistant Chief Executive for the Council, and is the former director of Black Thrive Global. She also worked with NHS England and Department for Education to improve employment prospects and access to apprenticeships for people with learning and other disabilities. She is a qualified accountant and her responsibilities have included policy, equalities, performance, arts and culture, employment, and community safety. The Black Thrive Partnership brings together individuals, local communities, statutory agencies and voluntary organisations to address the structural barriers that prevent Black people from thriving.
Jane Farrell is the co-founder of EW Group, and was Chief Executive from 1992 to 2021. She is a specialist in inclusive leadership, unconscious bias, organisational change and cultural adaptability. Jane has also delivered similar diversity programmes for a vast number of other organisations, including the BBC, various NHS Trusts, Leadership Academies and Clinical Commissioning Groups. She regularly works with leaders of global and national organisations, advising on inclusive leadership, and diversity and inclusion strategy.
