In this sandpit-style event, researchers from the School of Law, Politics and Sociology (LPS), the Sussex Law and Technology Research Group, and the Sussex Digital Humanities Lab (SHL Digital) and Sussex AI Centres of Excellence will meet to share experiences and ideas for future collaborations on AI-related research. This is envisaged to include research using AI-based tools and methodologies, as well as projects exploring the politics and governance of AI and its impacts on human rights and society.
Opening presentations will showcase previous successful projects and discuss emerging collaborations between LPS and the two centres. Researchers from informatics and technology backgrounds will provide suggestions on how multi- or inter-disciplinary projects can be developed in practical terms, and the ingredients for good practice and productive partnerships between technologists and social scientists.
We will then share our research interests, identify funding opportunities and other ideas, before agreeing some follow up actions to further develop existing and new collaborations.
