How to keep yourself well at work – self-employed

4 July, 2023 @ 1:30 pm - 2:15 pm

Free
Do you know how to keep healthy when working for yourself? Do you want to avoid burnout and improve your focus and productivity?

July is a time for us all to think about our health and wellbeing and adopt new healthy habits. Now is important more than ever to look at our wellbeing reflecting on the impact the pandemic has had on our work life and personal health. It is important for us to support our wellbeing even when self-employed and prevent burnout.

Poor health can be one of the main causes of stress when you’re self-employed. Like most of us, since lockdown many freelancers now work remotely. Whilst this comes with its perks, research also shows that some find unclear communication (28%) and loneliness (19%) key barriers to this way of working. Also, since the coronavirus outbreak, only 39% of freelancers rate their mental health as excellent or good compared to 68% before covid.

Join our free 45 minute practical information advice session with Laura Wood from the Healthy Lifestyles Team at Brighton & Hove City Council on how to stay healthy at work while self-employed.

Laura will cover in this session:

  • Importance of your health and wellbeing for work
  • Self-employed health impact and common challenges
  • Impact of good health and wellbeing for you and your business
  • Free support and resources
  • Q&A

* This part is specific to Brighton & Hove businesses. The Public Health team offer free support for any businesses or charity’s in Brighton & Hove. We’ll equip you with the available resources to help you look after your health and wellbeing.
