Intro to Trade Marks: The Whats, The Whys, The Whens, The Wheres, and The Hows

Join Chartered UK Trade Mark Attorney, Alexandra Nott for a whistle-stop tour of need-to-know information relating to trade marks.

The session will focus on the following:

• The Whats: what is a trade mark, what are the different types of trade marks, what does having a trade mark enable the owner to do
• The Whys: why is it worth registering a trade mark, why are trade marks useful for businesses, why is trade mark searching important
• The Whens: when should a trade mark be registered, when does a trade mark need to be renewed
• The Wheres: where should you conduct trade mark searches, where should you register a trade mark
• The Hows: how do you go about registering a trade mark, how much does it cost

The session will take the form of a 30-40 minute talk, followed by some time for questions. We look forward to seeing you there.

What is your cancellation policy?

The majority of our events are free, but places are often limited – especially for in-person events, therefore please make sure you cancel your place, if you are unable to attend. You can cancel through your Eventbrite booking or emailing bipc@brighton-hove.co.uk.

Can I attend if I’m not a member of the library?

Absolutely! Any Sussex based business/ person with a business idea is welcome. Though we always recommend joining the library as it’s free and will make accessing our databases, books and publications much easier.
