The “Get the kettle on” Breakfast
Our March speaker is Krisi Smith, co-founder, creative director and chief tea mixologist at the Bird & Blend Tea Co
Her story starts at university, where as a politics student she met Mike Turner who was to become her co-founder. Krisi went on to work in the tea industry but tired of the 9-5, she and Mike headed off to Canada where they worked as ski instructors.
After enjoying the freedom, adrenaline rush and fresh air of the mountains, they had no desire to return to the office, or work for someone else. They wanted to create an ethical, eco-conscious business so they decided to disrupt the UK tea industry by creating unusual, fun and imaginative blends.
Today, Bird & Blend has more than 100 teas. Flavours include jelly & ice cream, pina colada, birthday cake and, for the less adventurous, builder’s breakfast brew.
So come along to Bill’s to hear Krisi’s story, with a fabulous breakfast and some excellent networking added to the mix.
